British YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been arrested in Australia over allegations of sexual assault. The 29-year-old social media personality was detained in Brisbane on Tuesday before being extradited to Perth on Wednesday.
Barrientos is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at his hotel in Perth on 28th September. The alleged incident followed his performance at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys the previous night, 27th September.
The YouTuber, who has amassed over three million followers on Instagram, had also performed at Havana Nightclub on the Gold Coast two days before his arrest.
Barrientos faces multiple charges, including four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault, and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
The accused is scheduled to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Bar1 Nightclub, where Barrientos performed before the alleged assault, promoted his appearance as the “ultimate evening escapade,” promising “a seamless blend of spontaneity, humour and music” according to event organiser MoshTix.
