Popular streamer Asmongold has sparked widespread outrage following comments he made about Palestinians during a recent broadcast. The streamer, known for his gaming content and large following, stated that he has “no sympathy” for the people of Palestine, describing them as “terrible people” from an “inferior culture.” His comments were made in the context of ongoing conflicts in Palestine and Lebanon, and have since drawn significant criticism online.
Asmongold, whose real name is Zack, made these remarks on his alternate channel, zackrawrr, where he further claimed that Palestinians would commit genocide if they had the power to do so. He referred to Palestinian culture as “immoral” and “evil” and mentioned sharia law in his commentary. While acknowledging that some people may be caught in the crossfire, he maintained that his views about the culture were deeply negative.
The stream quickly generated backlash after clips circulated online, with many calling for action to be taken against the streamer. Critics have pointed out the potential damage to his relationships with sponsors and developers, and some have called on Twitch to ban his account for hate speech. Despite the controversy, neither his zackrawrr channel nor his main Asmongold account has faced any immediate repercussions as of yet.
Asmongold’s statements come amid ongoing tensions in Gaza, where Israel has faced accusations of human rights violations, and the United Nations has reported severe shortages of food and supplies in Northern Gaza. The comments have heightened concerns about the use of inflammatory rhetoric and hate speech on major streaming platforms, with many questioning the lack of action from Twitch.
The streamer and his organization, OTK (One True King), have yet to release an official response to the backlash.
